Vought F4U - Corsair
The unmistakable profile of the Corsair was seen all over the Pacific towards the end of WW2. Designed for the biggest engine and propeller ever sent to carrier operations the Corsair had to have the distinctive gull-wing to ensure the prop cleared the ground. Serving with great distinction in the Pacific, WW2, and with the Royal Navy and French forces it was the supreme mix of fighter and ground attack aircraft. A firm favourite with the US Marine corps.
