Description
De Havilland Tiger Moth
‘First Steps’
A wannabe pilot squeezes a few more minutes flying as the light fades. With the rear pilot-instructor keeping a watchful eye the trainees were introduced to flight in the best way possible – the wind in the wires. Many thousands ofTiger Moths were used by the RAF as initial experience trainers, as the Tiggie was ‘easy to fly but difficult to fly well’ it was admirably suited to demonstrating real piloting skill
With many examples still operational the Tiger Moth still affords a ‘real’ flying experience at many airshows and flying clubs. Happy memories.
