Description
A famous veteran of WW2 this Spitfire started life in May 1942 with 317 Polish Squadron. Saw many combat missions until damaged in late 1943 and retired to Maintenance Units. The airframe was used as the mould for the fibre-glass Spits used in the film �Battle of Britain� and then became a 'gate guard' at various RAF bases. Sold by the RAF in 1993 and restored at Duxford to it�s genuine WW2 colours in 317 livery. Now flies regularly at UK airshows.
