Description
Tornado
The first of the Tornado series aircraft was delivered to the RAF in June 1979. Continually updated for the four Air Forces (RAF, Germany, Italy and Saudi Arabia) a total of 992 had been delivered by the time production ceased in 1998. Capable of nearly all the front-line tactical and strategic roles required of a modern air arm the Tornado has proved to be an outstanding success as seen in the Gulf and Afghanistan conflicts. The RAF continues to deploy the GR4 version, the fighter option being replaced by the Typhoon, and it is expected to remain operational until 2025.

A real great shot of the Tornado's-did you ever do the English Electric Lighting Pat?
Pat Speirs replied:
Only got a couple of static shots from Hendon - no other opportunity for Lightning stuff. Got some Hawk, Tucano and Typhoon image son the way though, couple of weeks from now. Thanks for your interest, much appreciated.
