Me 262 - Stormbird
Poised to drop out of the sun onto the rear section of the B17 bomber stream an Me262 makes the most of its technical advantage. The first operational jet aircraft to see combat in WW2 the 262 was so late in development that only a few reached front-line service and these were then frustrated by severe fuel shortages. A couple of P51 Mustangs climb up to honour the threat but would be hard pushed to deal with the jet.
This example of the elegant aircraft, rebuilt in the US, is now operational at North American airshows.

This example of the 262 was at the Hamilton Air Show on the w/e 8-9th June. Very photogenic and hopefully can form the basis of many more composites - also there a nice example of the FW190 plus the Mosquito - all of which will figure in the future. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated.
