Description
Hurricane
The Hawker Hurricane was very much the poor relation to the Spitfire in the eyes of the media and the public during the dark days of the Battle of Britain. Rugged and dependable the Hurricane achieved a better kill rate in the Battle and also served in greater numbers. Easier to repair due to its simpler construction and some fabric surfaces the Hurricane was a firm favourite with ground crews. Subsequent to the Battle of Britain many different varieties of the Hurri were produced perhaps the most successful being the ground attack version armed with four 40mm cannon - referred to as the tank-buster!

What a hunk!
Pat Speirs replied:
Not as pretty as the Spit but a real performer when needed. My own preference is the tank buster with the array of 40mms - not to be argued with!
