Description
Handley Page Halifax
En Route
Just emerging from the moonlit clouds a Halifax II settles down for the transit to tonights target. Playing a significant part in Bomber Commands strike force the Halifax served with many RAF Squadrons and was allocated to several RCAF units. Originally designed as twin engined the Halifax was rapidly redeveloped into a four engine heavy almost 7,000 were built, none remain in flyable condition.

Nice. Viewed from the front, much like a Lancaster - until they spoilt the nose with the Mk III.

Thanks Gary, intriguing aircraft in all it's various guises, but what a nightmare of a crew compartment.
