Corsair F4U-N
This aircraft was deployed with the US Marines Squadron VMF-513(N) as night fighter support for the UN forces during the Korean conflict. Developed form the earlier Corsair models this Mk was a most effective all-weather fighter, the Squadron adopting the nickname �The Flying Nightmares�. Many missions were flown in support of the B29 bombing missions in 1952 the Corsairs operating out of Pusan West airfield.
Now restored to immaculate condition and flown with great elan at Duxford Legends air days, Red 19 shows off the unique shape of the gull-winged �monster�.
