Description
RAF Search and Rescue Force
A Sea King of the RAF SAR team sets out to Rannoch Moor from the head of Loch Etive on a typical rescue mission. Started in 1941 to cope with the huge increase in RAF operations the six (in the UK) teams have been instrumental in rescuing many thousands of people. Often in such challenging and dangerous conditions that six George Medals and 50 Air Force Cross medals were awarded to the crews. Now disbanded, except for a detachment in the Falklands, they are well remembered for their selfless devotion and skill.

I agree with Beverly, this is a great image, Pat.

Thanks Douglas - the background is the result of a cold day up in Glencoe some years ago. Your input much appreciated, as always.
