Description
Jaguar GR1
A joint development by the French and UK aviation industries the Jaguar served in a variety of roles from the 1970’s until the early 2000’s. Deployed mainly with 2TAF forces in Germany the Jaguar was a superb replacement for the Canberra strike force. Easily capable of supersonic flight and with a 10,000lb plus weapon load the Jaguar showed it’s worth in the Gulf War with one aircraft flying the highest number of missions of any aircraft type and no losses recorded. A genuine tactical (nuclear capable) workhorse for the RAF.
The image shows a GR1 Jaguar, in 54 Sqdn livery, in a typical northern Europe weather scene.
