Description
Ju 52 – Luftwaffe stalwart – Tante Ju.
Operated by the German authorities (Lufthansa and Luftwaffe) from the early 1930s the Ju52 was a ground breaking transport aircraft. Rugged and dependable the Ju 52 was used on regular routes from Berlin to most other European capitals and in particular through the Alpine passes en route to Rome. Through the Alps because of the Ju’s service ceiling of 11,000 ft – somewhat below the Alpine peaks. Also much used by Hitler for transit to Berchtesgaden – as seen here.

Very cool image! Reminds me of the old Eastwood/Burton movie "Where Eagles Dare."
Pat Speirs replied:
Hi Douglas - right on target, couldn't resist trying to capture the moment from the film 9probably the best opening film sequence of all time), tried it with a winter camo and the Ju 'disappeared' in the b/g. Good to hear from you again.
