Description
‘Tank Busters’
No. 6 Sqdn. Hurricane llDs in action in the Western Desert 1943. The Sqdn was based at various locations in North Africa and used mainly in ground support and tank-busting operations. The Sqdn was known as the 'Flying Can Openers' and carry the appropriate symbol on the cowling - black humour has been endemic in the military at least since the days of the Roman Legions, I bet there is a Latin phrase for 'if you can't take a joke you shouldn't have joined'.

Good work, as always, Pat. Nice to see the desert Hurricanes getting a well-deserved image.

Thanks Douglas, correct b/g too, taken at Tarhuna range south of Tripoli these many moons ago.
