Description
D H Mosquito
Pathfinder
The Mosquito was used by specialist Bomber Command squadrons, known as Pathfinders, to find and mark the targets for the Lancaster mainforce. Once the target was identified and marked the Mosquito crew would stay in the target area to oversee the attack - they were known as Master Bomber crews.
This image shows a Mosquito outbound to the target area in the last of the winter daylight.

Oh, and by the way, Pat, maybe you be interested, as I am rather proud. My dad flew with Jimmy Doolittle on the first B-17. And trained pilots up in Alaska when the Japanese were based there. Also trained pilots for combat in the Sturman in Wenatchee, Wa.

Good to talk to you -a fine aviation history there in your family. Will keep an eye on your p/f - looks like a little niche area you have evolved. Late here now!
