Description
B25 – ‘Show me the way to go home’
The B25 squadrons of the 12th AF operated in the Mediterranean area during WW2. By 1944 they were based in various locations in Italy and Corsica tasked with interdictor sorties in Southern Europe. The winter weather was a constant problem and many sorties were flown in the poorest of conditions – particularly hazardous as the US crews did not have extensive instrument flying time. A section of B25s struggle to maintain formation and hope the lead nav does indeed – know the way home.

Really atmospheric and artistic, Pat...this effectively shows the often forgotten weather danger all those crews faced.

Thanks Douglas - two tours flying piston engined Varsity nav trainers made sure that conditions like that were far too common! Your interest always appreciated.
